The September Issue of TDV is Out Tonight

Hello all,

I've had quite a day.  For reasons I don't have time to fully explain I have rented a house in Cabo and will be splitting my time between Cabo and Acapulco for the foreseeable future (the next year or so).

The move mostly came about because I found an absolutely amazing deal on a 3 bedroom, multi-million dollar house with a pool on a 5 square kilometer lot, five minutes north of Cabo San Lucas.  Want to guess how much I rented it for?  $1,080/month!  I told that to a friend of mine who is looking to rent a 2 bedroom apartment in San Francisco right now and he can't find anything under $3,500/month.  I bet he nearly choked on his own tongue after hearing that.

I had been living in what basically was a large studio apartment (here: http://acacondos.com) with the fiance, 2 kids and a chihuahua for the last 6 months or so and we had been looking for something more amenable to the large family I seem to have now.

I'll still be living in Acapulco but I'll probably split my time.  As well, Cabo has much more direct flights and if you look at my travel schedule you will see why I want to be a bit closer to a more international airport for the next few months.

Anyway, here is the funny part of the trip.  I decided to also take my maid/cook/nanny (when you find a REALLY good one... you keep them)... not to mention she only costs about $10/day.  And she took her husband with her.  So, it was the six of us.  Three of us had never flown before.

My 5 year old daughter and the maid and her husband.  To add to the fun we all speak different languages.

My daughter speaks Spanish.  My little seven year old boy only speaks German.  And the housekeeper and her husband are native indian Mexican who don't speak much Spanish... they speak the native language.

So, as the plane took off it was quite a comical moment with the housekeeper clinging to her husband, screaming something in a dialect I can't understand.  My little girl was giddy, jabbering on in Spanish.  And the little boy was trying to calm down the housekeeper in German.

We are staying the night in a Mexico City Airport hotel... after having snuck in Bruce Lee, my chihuahua, in a backpack (no dogs allowed).  And then tomorrow we are on to Cabo.  Hopefully some of my group is a bit more used to planes tomorrow!

To top off the night, the internet in the hotel doesn't work so I am sitting out in the hallway where I found a wifi signal just sending out this months edition of TDV!  It's a really great issue.

Here are some of the topics we cover in the September issue of The Dollar Vigilante:

  • A look back at the last ten years of change since the horrific events of 9/11 and the even more horrible events that followed them
  • How the "deficit cut deal" meant the exact opposite and even came out as a bloodless coup d'etat
  • Why Bernanke is so dangerous not for what he knows but for what he knows that just ain't so
  • How Warren Buffett & Charley Munger can't beat gold no matter how much they game the system
  • The US creates a new type of fasco-communism - by accident!
  • Four reasons we think gold stocks look like a major buying opportunity
  • In Economic Analysis, Ed Bugos calculates what he believes is the current fair price for gold
  • Ed Bugos adds a "Junior gold mining company with a major's portfolio" to our TDV Portfolio
  • We unveil a new service to get a second foreign passport as easily and cheaply as possible
  • Private Parts recounts how Afghanistan "democracy" is as absurd as the US variety - maybe even more
  • We take a look at the UK riots to see how you can better prepare for coming unrest near you

We Wordled the whole issue.  Here is what it looks like graphically:

Hey Jeff,

Great site! Keep US-Silver on your stock radar. (USSIF and USA on the Canadian Exchange).
There have been insider buys almost daily for the past month. Between $150,000 to over $1,000,000 a day invested here by insiders.

In fact, Eric Sprott most likely owns around 15% of the shares now. As of the last filing in July he was up to 10.1% and there have been incredible insider buys since - assume he continues to add.
The initial filing (see SEDAR Jul-8, 2011)
http://www.sedar.com/DisplayCompanyDocuments.do?lang=EN&issuerNo=00023678 :

1. Name and address of eligible institutional investor:
Sprott Asset Management LP (the “Offeror”)
200 Bay Street, Suite 2700, P.O. Box 27
Royal Bank Plaza, South Tower
Toronto, Ontario
M5J 2J1

Market cap is just over $200 million. Mining around 2.5M-3M oz of silver a year in the U.S. $35M in cash. Trailing PE of only 15! Made around 3c last quarter per share. Moving to the Toronto Big Board this month. 5:1 RS to get on AMEX by end of year. I've got all my 'stock account' eggs in this basket, which I know is risky, but once awareness hits this, it should really pop in price. Right now there are 306 million outstanding shares and the price is $0.72. After the RS later in the year it'll be closer to 65M shares and 15c a share in earnings per quarter at $40.00 silver.

Check it out when you have some time. Would like to hear your opinion and what you think may be going on here with how incredibly undervalued this stock price is, and your take on Sprott owning over 35 million shares and seems to be adding daily.

I know the mining costs are a bit higher here in the U.S. mines, but the profit is adding up substantially and the cash position grows by the day. I cannot see how this won't be at least 100% higher within a few months. It almost seems as though they have been trying to keep the price "low" in order to add more and more shares as evident by the daily insider purchases. Curious to hear your take on this one.

Again, great site. Love the writing style.
