There is Nothing to Fear but the TSA Itself

What ever happened to the Home of the Brave?  If the average American's views and priorities are any indication, that should be changed to the Home of the Brainwashed and Scared.

In a poll done late last year, the majority of Americans support all of the TSA's procedures.  Many state that they support the invasive measures because they fear terrorism.  Yet, what were the total deaths in 2009, for example, from terrorism in the US?  Zero.

Total deaths from heart disease was over 600,000.  Total deaths from cigarettes was over 400,000.  Alcohol?  Direct deaths of over 23,000... probably related deaths into the hundreds of thousands.

Yet, many people will sit at McDonalds eating a Big Mac, fries and a coke and smoking a cigarette while preparing for a night out of binge drinking and tell you that they are scared of terrorists and that we need to fight the war on terrorism.  They will also tell you that we need to continue the war on drugs because drugs are dangerous.  Total deaths from marijuana in 2009?  Zero.

Talk about having your priorities backwards.  The things that really do kill people are never worried about.  The things that almost never kill people are constantly presented by the Government and the media as dire threats and trillions of your dollars are spent fighting against them - putting hundreds of thousands in jail and killing millions of people worldwide - not to mention bankrupting the US Government and many of its people in the process.

In order to match the total killed by heart disease and cigarettes every year, 4,526 Boeing 757 airliners would have to be exploded, killing all of the 234 passengers aboard to equal the same amount of deaths.  That, by the way, is almost every 757 that has ever been built (6,638).

Why doesn't the US mainstream media lead off every newscast by saying, "Today, 1,687 were killed by poor diet and a lack of exercise and 1,213 were killed from smoking cigarettes.  And in other news, zero people died today from terrorism or marijuana"?

TSA COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL

Despite zero US deaths per year in the US from terrorism since 9/11, the TSA is expanding at a voracious rate.

The TSA has been found screening train passengers and Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano has admitted that body scanners would eventually find their way into U.S. public transportation, trains and boats and is already beta-testing technology that goes even further, by forcing Americans to undergo a behavioral interrogation before they are allowed to enter sports events, rock concerts and shopping malls. They've even proposed doing patdowns at high school proms!

In June they spread way beyond airport security.  A joint VIPR “security exercise” involving military personnel had Transportation Security Administration workers covering 5,000 miles and three states.  The TSA is turning into a literal occupying army for domestic repression in America.

As well, they keep coming up with new threats that they say we all need to be worried about.  They never cite any actual source, always proclaiming that "terrorist chatter" has indicated the threat.  Who are these terrorists and where are they all chattering?  That is top secret.

Now they say that the big threat is terrorists implanting bombs before boarding airplanes!  Of course, the TSA states that this will require "enhanced", more invasive patdowns.  They've even stated that the bombs could be placed in breast implants!  So, get ready ladies, we're going to have to double and triple check those breasts for any signs of irregularities.

And just yesterday the TSA has stated that they will have to do a pat-down of "poofy hair".

What's next?  Mandatory hair shaving before boarding a flight or train?  Why not also just require tattooing of your social insurance number on your arm as well?  Better safe than sorry, right?

If you live in the US and want to be more safe than sorry, it is best to plan now for further removal of liberties and a larger police state as the US Government collapses.  We recommend that American citizens prepare now while they still can by securing a second foreign passport and moving a significant portion of assets outside of the country.  For those who are able, expatriation is another option that should be seriously considered.  Some of our favorite expatriation destinations include Argentina (especially Galt's Gulch in Argentina), Paraguay and many others.

Do you suppose that the paranoid and intrusive hunt for terrorists in every cranny is driven by Obama's maniacal quest for reelection, which began on the day he was elected, and might get spoiled if anything ugly happens?

I think this has everything to do with the incremental installation of a police state. Bleary eyed Americans are barely aware that their rights have all but vanished.

Julia: yes I agree

Pete: In actuality, the best thing that could happen for Obama is a major "terror" attack... and that is why one is likely... it's the same reason they did 9/11, to take away more liberties from the American people. As for what each President actually wants, it is irrelevant, they are all puppets controlled by the elite financial bankers. Don't get fooled into the left/right paradigm, that's what they want you to do so you don't see they are both controlled by the same masters.

Jeff,
I wrote the following back in November of 2010. I can't remember whether I have sent this to you before or not, but still it ties in to what you have written here:
THE TSA, AIRLINE SECURITY & THE QUESTIONS NOT BEING ASKED

In the last few weeks the United States Government through the Department of Homeland Security and it’s extension ,the TSA, have decided to put into force a new set of rules for air travel that are causing a great deal of consternation, to put it mildly.

This country since 9-11 has been led to believe that all manner of enhanced security for air travel is necessary if not mandatory under the auspicious control of the Federal Government.

While I believe that a certain amount of precautions are necessary such as carry on and checked bag screening I call into question the necessity of full body scanners and aggressive “Pat Downs” to board commercial flights.

Our aggressive and enhanced Intelligence Operations in all likelihood have prevented and stopped a number of air sabotage operations from happening. This is much more likely than most ,if not all, screening being done in major international airports worldwide.

Our government has been selling us a bill of goods since 9-11 that all this screening and security is needed and indeed must be done to guarantee a safe flying environment. But is that really true?

I decided to look into a few statistics about flying and this is what I found:

I was fortunate to find a website called PlanCashInfo.com

http://www.planecrashinfo.com/index.html

This site is run by Mr. Richard Kebabjian that has information on Civilian and Commercial Air Plane Crashes going back to 1920.

I started with a random base year, 1960, which I used as that marked a 50 period in aviation history as well as a good timeline for modern jet travel.

I e-mailed Mr. Kebabjian some questions about airplane crash fatalities, airplane sabotage and estimates of the number of people who have flown. The numbers I got back were for the most part amazing.

Since January 1, 1960 there have been 74,065 people killed in all accidents involving commercial, non-military, non-private, non-charter aircraft carrying at least 10 passengers. That works out to approximately 1481 people a year killed flying.

Using the same criteria we have 6,676 people killed involving Sabotage. That works out to approximately 133 people killed a year involving Sabotage and Terrorism.

Now to put all that in perspective we have had approximately 5 Billion people who have flown since 1960. The statistical odds of being killed in a random crash or an Act of Sabotage/Terrorism is Infinitesimal.

Compare those statistics to the fact that on average we have 30,000 plus traffic fatalities a year, approximately 1.5 Million people killed in traffic related deaths since 1960.

So who is fooling whom with all this enhanced security at the airports?

The bottom line is that these TSA policies are more about control of us rather than keeping us safer. We need more hard questions asked by our Senators and Congressmen and more accountability by The U.S. Government, and The Department of Homeland Security.

Great post and insights, thanks Stephen!

TSA would say to us what I say to I say to my wife about the 5 cement blocks that have sat in the middle of our back yard for a little more than a year. She asked me a couple of months ago why i don't move them out of sight and why have they been sitting there. I told her that it's to keep the elephants out of the backyard. She said there are no elephants in our backyard and I said see, it's working. For those of you who don't know where we live we live in Peachtree City (PTC),GA. I guess I'm doing one hell of a good job because there has never been a report of an elephant in PTC ever, or at least since I've been living here.

Yes, Bob, still no elephants! Keep up the great work!
