Dependence Day

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Happy Dependence Day, slaves of America!

With each passing July 4th it never ceases to amaze how the people of America will revel in their own enslavement.  They shoot off fireworks, if they are allowed, and celebrate "Independence Day".

"God bless America!  Land of the free!" shouts one man, although not too loudly.  Policemen overseers are all around, many plain-clothed, and he fears the taser or being taken away for "disorderly conduct".

Another man raises his unopened beer in salute, "Woohoo!  Freedom!" he shouts, while being careful his beer does not open in the process.  That'd be an open container - a crime for which he could end up spending the weekend in a cage.

The revelry pauses as an announcement comes over the speakers. It is Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, "We want you all to be safe and enjoy this July 4th.  So, please be extra aware and vigilant of your fellow Americans around you.  Report any suspicious activity to the Government via the police or call 9-1-1 if you see anything out of the ordinary."

A smattering of applause ensues, "Thank goodness for the Government, here to protect us," says a little girl to her mother.

The Government has arranged for a celebration this evening.  They will use the proceeds of the money taken from the slaves to set off some firecrackers purchased from China - where manufacturing is still legally allowed - and play some government propaganda music.  Even Overseer Obama can't believe it when the slaves all, without even being prompted or forced, sing along with it.

Thank goodness we start young with the public indoctrination camps, thinks Obama.  Komrade Vladimir Lenin sure had that one right when he said, "Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."

Four, laughs Obama to himself, we do it for twelve!  Amerika really is the best!  And then we make them go even more in debt for four more years of socialist indoctrination.  "We're almost there, Karl Marx, almost there," Obama proudly mumbles under his breath.

Hundreds of thousands have thronged to Washington DC to adulate the Great Obama, prince of peace and bearer of bread and circuses.

"I love you Obama!" shouts one woman.  What a great man, she thinks, without him I would not receive my welfare check and food stamps.

It is a special day, in a way.  The majority of the police have been called off their regular no-knock raid duty, for this one shining day, so as to ensure the crowds are well behaved.  There may not be anyone shot or terrorized in their homes today for the criminal activity of enjoying some marijuana leaf.  For this we can rejoice!

The celebration at the National mall should go off without problem.  There were some rumors of a few unpatriotic people who had plans to protest this great day - but none of the free speech zones are near the celebration today so the slaves can enjoy Dependence Day without fear of having to think about what is really going on.

Little Billy looks up, starstruck, at the music and pageantry.  "We are so lucky Billy," says his father, welling up with pride, "We live in the best country in the world!"

"Really, papa?" replies Billy.

"Yes, son!  Think of the poor people living in other places, like Palestine, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya or Yemen.  There, every day, they are attacked by drone predators - black death from robots in the sky," gloats Papa.

"Or, just think about the poor people in places like Mexico.  Did you know, in Mexico, they don't even have speed limits?  And all drugs are legal!  They can even walk outside with an open beer container!  It's a failed state, Billy!"

"Really, papa?" replies Billy.

"Yes, son!  We are truly lucky."

Papa and Billy then headed off back home.  Papa needs to get back to work.  The Government takes more than half his wages in the hundreds of taxes they collect and Papa's been having a hard time staying ahead and providing for Billy.

As they drove along the interstate the sound of screeching sirens shook Papa and Billy from their happy state.

Papa, quivering and clenching his teeth, pulls the car over to the side of the road.

"Papa?  Is everything ok?" asked Billy, sensing the fear in his father's demeanour.

"It's ok, Billy.  It's ok," said Papa, not even believing his own words.  He may have been going a few miles per hour over the speed limit - and all the credit cards are maxed out.  He can't afford a speeding ticket... the family is just getting by on food stamps as it is.

As the Officer approached the car he tapped on the window.

"In a rush, sir?" queried the Officer, pulling out his ticket book,  "Papers please."

Papa slumped back in his seat.

"Please sir, it is, after all, July 4th," pleaded Papa.

"I see you have a broken tail light as well," chided the officer, tearing another page from his ticket book.

"Happy In-dependence Day," smirked the Officer, handing Papa a few hundred dollars worth of tickets.

"You are now free to go," he said as he headed back to his cruiser.

Papa sat silently, staring ahead, in shock.

"Papa?" asked Billy, looking up to his father who looked like a broken man.

"Yes.  We sure are lucky to live in the land of the free, Billy," said Papa, "We sure are lucky."

Human government and individual FREEDOM are mutually exclusive concepts. It's impossilbe to experience real freedom with a 'power broker' (another human being with controling power) pushing one's buttons. D

I've been thinking a lot recently as to why so few U.S. citizens complain about the sorry state this country is in....It seems to me that one must have lived through the time when freedoms, our money and a host of other things were truly ours, to know what we now no longer have. Younger generations haven't known these changes, as the changes were so gradual or they were far enough in the past that the "morphing" was just not seen. To bad, cause to see what we once were and what we've now become is so striking.
Living under so much more a restrictive system that is so much less functional in terms of allowing us to live free is very apparent......to those old enough to have know what it was like before. Add the outright enslaving and restrictive programs and policies put in place and ever expanding losses in true freedoms and it could quite literally make one cry. Yes....it's a sad day to reflect on the meaning of this national holiday.......jammed full of restrictive and freedom less entrapments and policies. God help us to help ourselves, before it's to late to do so......

From the beginning of time until the end, freedom always depends on obedience to truth. Freedom and obedience to truth are two sides of the the same coin. Disobedience to truth always causes loss of freedom. You want freedom? Learn the truth and obey it. One last thing -- truth is not a something -- truth is a somebody -- Jesus Christ, who said "I am the way, the truth, and the life."
