Osama bin Laden and 9/11 - You Can't Handle the Truth

Note: I'll be appearing on Jay Taylor's "Turning Hard Times into Good Times" radio program on Voice America at 4pm Eastern today.

I couldn't have been in a worst place when the news hit.  I was not only in the US but about to spend my day in and out of US airports, where CNN shreaks at you from every TV screen.

We got him, they shouted!

We removed him from the battlefield, said more than one US military speaker.  Are million dollar mansions "the battlefield" now?

What a great accomplishment for the US Government, they trumpeted!  Only 10 years, trillions of dollars and turning the once fairly free US into a prison camp to find, possibly, one old man who, according to them, was just hanging out in some suburb, living the good life in Pakistan.

This will almost certainly win Obama the next election, said many more.  The timing couldn't have been better for Obama, that's for sure, considering Obama's approval rating was bouncing around record lows.  The timing of the release of his birth certificate was also quite lucky - that controversy got wiped from the front page - almost like the time Donald Rumsfeld announced that $2.3 trillion - TRILLION, not billion - was missing from the Pentagon.  He mentioned that on September 10, 2001 and no one ever mentioned it again.

According to the US Government - not known for being so good with the truth - yesterday in Pakistan, 20 to 25 US Navy Seals, flew into a place that is supposed to be a sovereign country and just started killing people.  Obama stated, "We attempted to not kill any civilians".  Weren't they all civilians?  Or is Al Qaeda an official army now?  That'd actually make some sense since Al Qaeda was started by the CIA - the US Government usually creates their own enemies (Saddam Hussein being a fine example).  Osama bin Laden worked for the CIA for years in Afghanistan and Ronald Reagan was one of his biggest supporters and fans back then:

"To watch the courageous Afghan freedom fighters battle modern arsenals with simple hand-held weapons is an inspiration to those who love freedom." - Ronald Reagan March 21, 1983

This supposed killing of Osama has as many questions as answers.  They say they shot the most wanted man in the world and, probably figuring that in this day and age of the internet, not too many people would want to see much proof of this, they quickly flew him out into the ocean in the middle of the night and dumped him in it.  Are they serious?

It's quite amazing how easily people believe things when they are said by "authority" figures.  Remember the uproar about not one video camera capturing a plane hitting the Pentagon on 9/11 at the most secure facility in the world?  Not one.  Then after years of fighting over it the Government finally released the single surveillance camera footage of a "plane" hitting the Pentagon.  Here is the video.  No plane is visible in the video.  But the mainstream presstitutes stated that "this is the video of the plane hitting the Pentagon to finally squelch the conspiracy theories" and the American public just nodded and said, "Yes, sir, that's one more mystery solved".

And so, today, with no proof, much of the US seems to believe that Osama bin Laden was killed on May 1st.  But this isn't even what should be the topic of discussion.

There still is not much proof that Osama bin Laden was involved in 9/11.  He came out after 9/11 and repeatedly stated he was not involved in it.  Why would he repeatedly say he didn't do it and then later change and take credit for it?  That's not very evil-mastermind like.  But no one seems to remember that.

On September 16, 2001, an Al Jazeera news presenter read a message purportedly signed by Osama bin Laden, in which the following words were stated:

"I stress that I have not carried out this act, which appears to have been carried out by individuals with their own motivation."

In an interview with Osama bin Laden, published in the Pakistani newspaper Ummat Karachi on September 28, 2001, he stated:

"I have already said that I am not involved in the September 11 attacks in the United States. As a Muslim, I try my best to avoid telling a lie. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider the killing of innocent women, children and other humans as an appreciable act."

It wasn't until a bizarre "discovery" of a VCR tape in 2001 by US Forces in a "bombed out house in Jalalabad" that they said showed Osama bin Laden talking about his planning of 9/11 that they had any "proof" of his involvement... but the tape is an obvious fake (see more here).

Further proof of his lack of involvement comes directly from the FBI, who right up until his supposed death yesterday never showed 9/11 as being something Osama bin Laden was wanted for.  He was wanted for the embassy bombing in East Africa and the attack on the USS Cole, but not 9/11.

Much like everything involved with 9/11, the evidence has all been whisked away.  The wreckage from the World Trade Center was quickly shipped off to China and India to be recycled without doing any forensic evidence on how two 110 story steel framed structures could have collapsed at freefall speed into a 6 story high pile of rubble that burned, without oxygen, for weeks afterwards.

And any attempt at doing any sort of investigation into 9/11 has been shown to be a complete cover-up.  They spent $40 million investigating the Bill Clinton, Monika Lewinsky "scandal".  How much was spent to figure out exactly what happened on one of the most important days in US history?  $14 million.  The US Government spends more than $14 million at a typical cocktail party.

So, was Osama bin Laden involved in 9/11?  There certainly isn't much proof or evidence to show that.

And was he killed yesterday in Pakistan despite many more realistic reports that he died in 2001 from failing kidneys?  It's possible.  But, again, not much proof.

There are still countless questions about 9/11.  See this excellent documentary called Loose Change to see many of them:

Ten years after 9/11 and now that the bogeyman that the US Government said was responsible for it has been reported to be dead can we once and for all take a serious look at what really happened?

Or, to paraphrase a famous movie line, can we not handle the truth?

I noticeed when Charlie chaplin [our president] mentioned 9/11,he was very careful to blame 9/11 on alciada, and not specifically bin laden. maybe because the fbi never charged him due to lack of evidence?

For an accurate history of Islamic extremism, read Lawrence Wright's "The Looming Tower," which traces the movement back to Sayyid Qutb and the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. A key point, the extremists aren't poor. They are made up of the most privileged young males in their societies, and Wright explains why that is. And that goes right back to Qutb, who lived in the US for several years.

As to the Pentagon airplane, read Snopes.com. That is a well-debunked urban legend: http://www.snopes.com/rumors/pentagon.asp

As I understand it, bin Laden's wrath towards the US had mostly to do with being abandoned when fighting the Russians in Afghanistan. The body of evidence that he is a terrorist mastermind stands on its own, and is irrefutable in my view.

I'm sure Private Parts is 100% accurate in what he says about the waste and ineffectiveness of the government in Afghanistan. For the opposite side, also from the ground, go to Michael Yon: http://www.michaelyon-online.com/ - Yon is as independent a thinker as you, but has his own viewpoint.

As to bin Laden's death, do you think the Pakistanis are pretending to be offended at being left out of the loop? It takes very baroque thinking to generate conspiracies in matters of public record with thousands of witnesses.

Back to 911, there is no doubt that the PNAC was very happy to have its "New Pearl Harbor." I went to my own Bush administration insider. He did not deny the PNAC link, but indicated that he had no knowledge of orchestration (from a very inside position) - I did ask, as my trust level for Bush was near zero.

Wright makes clear that the 911 conspirators were for the most part being tracked, but that the US government security apparatus was so inept it could not act on good intelligence that these guys were dangerous.

I like you dislike airport security. However, I do not doubt that these guys truly want to kill us. As discussed, they don't have to go through security or get on a flight to create havoc.

Are we over-intervening abroad? No doubt? Does that make the US a target? Agreed. Are your criticisms of foreign adventurism well-grounded? Bully for you! Glad you're saying it. But check your facts before you weaken your argument with second-rate conspiracy theories, etc. You don't need that low-level stuff to make your case.

Hi Laurence,

Did you watch the documentary, "Loose Change"?

There are hundreds of questions still unanswered that go directly against the official story. I don't know what happened on 9/11, but I do know that what the US Government says makes no sense when you look at the facts
