The Door is About to Shut for Americans

Anyone aware of the US Government's real financial situation knows that time is running out. The Government has $15.5 trillion in admitted debts but those debts, when calculated under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), or 'honest accounting', is over $70 trillion. $70 trillion divided by 300 million+ Americans works out to $233,000 per person in US Federal Government debt and obligations. Or nearly $1 million per family of four.

That does not included personal debt, state debt or municipal debt.

This debt plus an economy that has been completely hollowed out by the Federal Reserve system ensures that there is no way the US Government can ever pay off this debt. And, everyone knows it.

The indications that the US Government is moving very quickly to enact any legal measure or fine against Americans and to make it nearly impossible for any American to escape payment to pay for their sins are everywhere.

We recently commented on how It Is now Easier to Enter the US Than It Is To Leave. Customs agents and cash sniffing dogs stand on guard at most international US airports checking to make sure no one has more than $10,000 in cash without declaring it. The standard response to this is: "They are only making it difficult for criminals to move about and to transfer money".

Well, the problem is, the US Government is moving very quickly to make it so almost everyone is seen as a criminal in the eyes of the US legal system.

Now We Are All Criminals

It is already said that there are so many laws, rules and regulations in the US that each person in the US breaks at least one law per day, if not much more - without even knowing it. But the US Government is becoming more obvious in how it will go about making everyone a criminal and fining them ridiculous amounts of money in doing so.

This week, an American family who said they were just trying to teach their son about responsibility and entrepreneurship was fined $90,000 by the USDA because the teenager sold $4,600 worth of bunnies in one calendar year without a license. Not only were they demanded to pay $90,000, but if they did not pay within a short period of time the fine could increase to as high as $4 million.

This one case only goes to show how easy it is, within the system, to take any small transgression and to blackmail someone for, for all intents and purposes, every penny they have - or more.

Students to be Forced into the Military to Repay Debts

We also recently commented on how the US college system draws people into large debts (Debtucation) and how student debt is now larger than credit card debt in the US. It is the US Government itself that has made college education so expensive by offering student loans to anyone who can fog a mirror but again they have shown their intentions by making student loan debt the only debt which can not be forgiven. A 2005 decree from the Bush Administration stated that student loan debt could not be dissolved through bankruptcy proceedings. The only other scenario where this “no-escape” clause exists is debt from criminal acts and debt from fraud. In other words, student loan debt is seen, by the US Government, as being similar to proceeds from crime!

What will this mean with more young Americans in student loan debt than any other time? It's anyones guess but it would not be out of the realm of possibility to force students who can not pay off their debt into the military to repay their debt.

And with the US military with 800 military bases worldwide with US military personnel in 156 countries and US Military bases in 63 countries and currently occupying or attacking Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and with other drone operations in places like Yemen and Pakistan, the US is all but ensuring that it is screwing around in enough places to eventually draw in one of the big boys. Russia, China or Iran.

And, hey, we Gotta Support the Troops, right?

US Government Eyeing Pensions and Retirement Funds

On the other end of the spectrum, seniors and those in retirement, the US Government recently made it very obvious that funds held in retirement accounts are going to be the first to be taken when times get tough.

In the recent scuffle over raising the debt ceiling, the US Government was short of some funds after reaching the United States' $14.3 trillion debt ceiling last Monday. Where was the very first place the US Government went to find new sources of funds? Last week they dipped into state pension funds in order to make payments.

It is no great leap to think that as things worsen in the US Government's financial situation, which is all but guaranteed, that the first thing that will be nationalized will be all tax sheltered retirement accounts. After all, we all have to do our part to pay for the debts of the Government, right?

Anyone living off of US pensions should be very worried. And anyone with significant funds in retirement accounts should be running, not walking, to get any funds they can outside of the direct control of the US Government. We recommend looking at "Unleash Your IRA", a great program for diversifying your IRA internationally.

Get a 2nd Passport

There are two ways to look at the upcoming battle between the US Government and US citizens. You can stay and fight or you can run and hide.

If you plan to stay and fight we wish you good luck and will try to support your efforts in any way we can.

If you would rather run and hide then one of the first things you should be looking to do at this time is to at least get a second passport. This is still legal for Americans and there are many options. We discuss many of them, regularly in our newsletter.

As well, if you have the financial capability, we highly recommend buying some foreign real estate - preferably somewhere you like to live. Our favorite place, at the moment, is La Estancia de Cafayate in Argentina (email them for more information at tdv@lec.com.ar).

2011 Last Year to Get Out

Most things are still legal in the US. It is still legal to have foreign bank accounts - although you are required by law to report them to the Government. It is still legal to get a second passport. It is still legal to move assets in your IRA outside of the country. It is still legal to move money outside of the country and buy foreign real estate.

The window of opportunity is closing. If you live in the US and still have all your assets inside of the US, you likely have months, not years, to internationally diversify your assets and to get your affairs in order. Anything much after 2011 is taking a big risk of losing it all.

The Government Can

After all, we, as individuals have to live within our means and it is considered a crime if we forcibly take money from others to pay for our debts. The Government, on the other hand? The Government Can.

Anyone smart enough to listen to you Jeff should send you a cheque or a few ounces of gold in the next few years as all this happens! Thank you for being vigilante!

As I read your latest writing, today....I think of the basic wisdom/truths it contains....since I need no convincing on what you say, I try to imagine all the others, the 95 % of Americans who are absolutely clueless and unmoved to see and absorb reality and the need for them to be fearful enough to make some changed to their financial lives. I have very close friends, well educated ones and family, who I most certainly care about.......but the truth is, although I may have their ear to discuss this, I cannot really get their attention. They have all been so conditioned and "dumbed" down over their lives......they cannot imagine how it would be possible for our Gov't to "throw us to the wolves" this way. I continue to make little "adjustments" to my own plans......and I am sure some of those I care about will come around a little, as the whole thing blows up.......but it probably will be to late, by them and as much as they will want to do something then, they won't be able to get it done at THAT time.......Needless to say, I feel sorry I cannot "reach" more of them......

Great article. You can get a vision of the life what will be in the U.S. for your children if all goes according to their plan, and so far it is working well. The only viable alternatives is if you have to stay is to be poor and milk the system for all its worth. When you can then pick a nice country and move there. Short term truly nothing is safe under a state of emergency. If you buy Gold and Silver they will find a way to confiscate it. A heavily armed citizenry may upset the power group as revolutions need to be supressed. LOL.......just like Libya if there is armed uprisings in the U.S. and the military is called out to shell the revolutionaries......then will NATO bomb Amerika?

At the very minimum, we are all in for a radical drop in our standard of living. It is already happening to the bottom 50% of the US population. Any day now we will wake up to the shock of the collapse of the world econmy. There is no place to hide. It may resemble Katrina. No food, no medicine, no help coming for the weak or sick. Do you know where your politician is?

The private federal reserve's illegally imposed interest on the citizens "should" be separated from the national debt. The lumping together of the principal and the illegal interest fortifies the theft and legitimizes the belief that WE THE PEOPLE owe these thieves interest on what is supposed to be our own money.

I appreciate your article. Well aware of this monstrous plan. Anyone who is awake has seen the demise right before our eyes. One must remember what these monstrous elites mantra is, "Out of chaos, comes order." Some say "The Beast" of Revelation is about to enter the stage in 2012, the year of the dragon. We shall see. Good luck to all and may the Heavens watch over us.

Very good info and advice.

Unfortunately being one on the bottom of what has become a garbage-pile of a nation (thanks to the thieving class in DC, "wall street", the internationalists, and their accomplices). I will have to stay, but I will fight. There will be little, if anything left to lose but life itself.

Very few fights are good fights. Sadly the coming one is unavoidable, but will be a good fight. It's not going to go the way such "wars" have gone for past 2.5 centuries (with the same particular classes destroying the majority while stealing all wealth they can get their hands on during the chaos and mayhem).

With respect and no negative contention intended, the "government" with its internationalist and corporate allies, do not have things under their control. They are gravely mistaken in thinking that this will be another soviet union, PRofChina, Cuba, NKorea (i.e. communist utopia), "nazi" Germany, or corporate fascist-capitalist dictatorship. For starters - most of "government", all levels, is now acting unlawfully, illegally, and won't be allowed to continue much longer. Likewise, the "by-the-corporations-and-highest-bidders-for-the-coprorations-and-highest-bidders government" knows the truth: There are very many of us who do not fear and wisely bide our time - until the time is right. Tolerance and patience for the "civilized means of fixing problems" is almost out.

Watch and see.

Those of you who make it out - best wishes, but when things don't go the way the self-anointed "elites"
want you to believe, i.e. they will maintain their criminals' grip and abusive control of our nation, you might not be able to come back... Things will never be the same.

Respects

An IRA or 401k is NOT a pension! The government can't take over your 401k or IRA, all they can do is remove it's tax exempt status. The government doesn't actually own or control anyone's 401k or IRA.

Good article. For those who think it couldn't happen here remember FDR confiscated gold. Even if the author is not even close to being right we should be able to control our own retirement if we feel confident enough. My personal account has outperformed my custodial account.I don't want to wait until I'm 59.5yrs to be able to self direct this.

May 27, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterj.kru

HeavyFN........ You are naïve at best....the Gov't can do ANYTHING they want.....they can most certainly take over, freeze, nationalize or any other way, seize what you perceive to be yours.......so don't kid yourself and believe otherwise...!!!! And don't mislead people so they let their guard down.

The question is do we have any allies left in positions of power or have they all become quintessential liars

May 27, 2011 | Unregistered Commentermajor

I think they can take IRA and other pensions if there are government favors that come along with them like tax breaks. But if they can't well they will dream up a reason to be able to do it and people will accept it like they always do.

Oh, They won't 'steal' it. They will just issue a few trillion more USA 'notes' and spend it. Ha ha, sound familiar?
(hint: social security)

The Jewnited Snakes will either DEVALUE your dollars outright and/or use the creation of inflation to stealthy steal your dollars as they are doing now and since the creation of the 1913 feral reserve debt system.

May 29, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJC

One of the author's buddies is Doug Casey. It just so happens that Doug Casey owns and is the developer
of la Estancia de Cafayate in Agentina. What a coincidence that this is the number one place in the world that is recommended to you to invest your IRA real estate dollars. No conflict of interest here - sure. No measure
of corrupt behavior here - sure.

If you have ever been to Cafayate you would know that it is a dump in the middle of nowhere. La Estancia is
some 30 miles from the town - a development in the middle of nowhere in the middle of nowhere

The author clearly has no shame in promoting garbage for the financial game of his buddies.

May 29, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterrick11

rick11...I am glad you mentioned that before I did something stupid. I just received information from la Estancia de Cafayate. Do you have any other weblinks discussing the connection between the establishment and la Estancia de Cafayate .

As I mentioned in my previous comment, how do we know who's information we can trust. We have so many of what appeared to be trusted individuals in the establishment, who are playing both sides against the middle. If some one is making a lot of money writing books and articles as opposed to taking real risks to fight it, then I would say their agenda would be suspect, at least initially. Breitbart is a good example of someone who has risked the attacks of the elite as opposed to JUST expelling brave words.

"Jewnited Snakes"??

I hope this bad pun does not reflect the mindset of most TDV readers.

Got a question, though...why does TDV suggest a second passport, by that do you mean a foreign passport?

If you mean a second U.S. passport, how can that help when leaving the country if there is some kind of crackdown on citizens exiting>

May 29, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

"A second Passport" means a foreign Passport....you certainly don't need a second U.S. Passport.....
The 2nd Passport insures you a place to go and stay and use for traveling around......when using a U.S. Passport might not be adviseable.....as in 'flaging" your U.S. citizenship.....

As an American I see and understand the difficult road ahead of us, however I do not despair. All the USA has to do is back out of the "Pseudo World economy" created during the Clinton era and bring back the jobs to the USA. So far the USA has made the Chinese economy what it has become, as well as the rest of the world economies. American administration forgot who elected them and whom they have to answer to. We have become a consumers nation, shipped away our producing capabilities and jobs, our work force has been retrained over and over but the bottom line is, to do what? As an American my stomach turns when I think that our soldiers are walking in shoes and wearing uniforms made China and probably eating foods that also come from China. Our children are being poisoned by toys that have American brand names but are made in China, and when found out the company CEO had to apologize to the Chinese. (Remember Mattel toys? only on example)
Our elected officials have to understand that charity starts at HOME. We do not have Billions of Dollars to give to anyone but to take care of our needs first. Our laws as far as millions of e-legal's has got to stop,
what part of e-legal is legal. We need a strong president that will stand up for what is good for Americans first. Since WWI and especially after WWII the USA has nation built most of the successful economies of today, around the world. IT IS HIGH TIME IT TAKES CARE OF ITS OWN NEEDS NOW!

May 30, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterOnTheOtherSide

OnTheOtherSide.......you are correct.....but we have told Washington what we want...they just don't believe they have to listen to us......years ago the French responded by rolling out the guillotines......we need to do the same !!!! Our LeaderLESS Leaders are totally unresponsive and self absorbed.....only answering to the self serving "squeaks"........it's time to do something before we all wake up in the gutter...!

May 30, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMark S.

Truly shocking! It seems that Americans have completely fallen asleep. We hear now that the Nazi's used flouride treated water to make detenetees complacent. We see now that Nazi methodologies, recycled since time infinitum, are alive and well in the U.S.today. Many economists and political analysts have been saying for some time now that the U.S. actually has no intention of repaying it's debts, in particular to China. This means that there will have to be a major war, as a result of another False Flag attack, in which all the material wealth and infrastructure of the nation will be appropriated in the name of Homeland Security. executive orders have been penned and are at-the-ready for just such a scenario. Given the American citizens' current level of knowledge and understanding about the grand domestic theft that is occurring, they will probably be convinced to blame the Chinese for the horrible situation in which they will shortly find themselves, and will support such folly. It is then that HAARP will be unleashed. This will result in massive casualties, massive destruction, and massive global destabilization on our way to the Georgia Guide Stones maximum 500 million population. Who will be there to implement the New World Order solution for global resurrection? The Rockefellers, the Rothschilds, the Bushes, NATO armies and the IMF - The elites, The "Corporation"... geniuses one and all.

JC: Argentina is very safe for people... I would NEVER put money in a bank account in Argentina, however... their banks and currency collapse every 10 years! But, yes, Argentina is a great place to live...

Rick: You've obviously never been to Cafayate. I was just there... La Estancia is about 1 kilometer outside of Cafayate... and Cafayate is a picturesque, quiet, beautiful little town

First of all, I loved the article, Jeff. You were able to educate me without boring me, (and the Tom Hawkins vid at the end was perfect). I am also impressed that you did not censor the contrary voices. Many times I read a conversation thread and find nothing but praise and I find that suspicious. My business at the moment is investment property, specializing in IRA real estate . I think that the mid-term election that brought so many tea-party members to congress and gave the boot to so many rotters is a positive sign. I think that if we send a massive wave of great men to the Senate and one General to the White House in 2012 then we can turn this ship around. I know it will take decades to make up the ground we've lost but I believe it can be done.
