The Weekend Vigilante

Hello and welcome to the Christmas Eve edition of The Weekend Vigilante!

To begin, a Christmas poem from us to you, our loyal readers and subscribers for whom we couldn't do what we do without:

Twas the night before Christmas, when at the White House
Obama was O'bombing, in Hawaii's his spouse,
On Wall Street the traders were high frequency trading,
In hopes that St. Bernanke would soon again be inflating,
In Europe the future was not looking rosy,
Gone is Berlusconi and Papadandreo! With luck soon Merkel and Sarkozy,
In the middle east there is rioting, it's called Arab spring,
And Occupy Wall Street's protesting greed or something,
Again without fail the Government increases its debts,
Not even Super Congress can stop the madness,
Some look to the heavens, what caused all this squalor?
God answers, it was democracy and socialism and the fiat US dollar,
Dollar vigilantes knew this and bought gold, guns and fled,
And if they come for our gold they will get our lead,
Obama and Hillary will soon start World War III,
So enjoy this Christmas with good friends and family,
In the coming years we'll need to stick together,
So thanks for being a part of the TDV newsletter,
We've had a good year and expect next year double,
Secure in the fact Bernanke will ignite our gold mining bubble,
To dollar vigilantes we wish you all the best and good cheer,
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

DEBT LIMIT VIDEO

Here is a "debt limit" video that is not only funny but also explains just how ludicrous the US Government's debt addiction is in simple and easy to understand terms:

BAD LIP READING WITH RON PAUL

Another week went by where the mainstream media in the US was forced to actually pay attention to Ron Paul.  You really have to hand it to them with their creativity.  We couldn't have come up with any of the tricks they've thought up.  The latest was covered at Prison Planet ("Twilight Zone: USA Today Story About Ron Paul Leading In Iowa Headlined ‘Ron Paul Still Not in Lead'").  In the USA Today article, despite Ron Paul finishing first in Iowa they somehow managed to spin it as a loss because "He’s the second choice of only 9% of likely caucusgoers”.  In other words, he may be winning in first place but he's way behind in the race for second place!

Truly unbelievable.

Bad Lip Reading did what was, in our opinion, the best one they've done yet with Ron Paul.  We wouldn't be surprised to see mainstream media take quotes from this video and use it to proclaim that Ron Paul has gone crazy. Here it is: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/0a03ebddbb/ron-paul-a-bad-lip-reading-soundbite?rel=player.

SO, YOU'VE BEEN INDEFINITELY DETAINED

Here is a funny spoof of a US Government poster from Tom the Dancing Bug.  You can see it in a larger format here: http://boingboing.net/2011/12/21/tom-the-dancing-bug-so-yo.html

A CAPITALIST CHRISTMAS

Here is a short story Lew Rockwell recently relayed from Leonard Read showing why capitalism works and government involvement in the economy doesn't:

Two friends meet, one a postman, one a UPS man.

"How are you doing?" asks the UPS guy.

"Horribly," replies the postman. "Too many packages! How about you?"

"Our best year ever," says his UPS friend. "So many packages!"

MERRY CHRISTMAS

And with that I'll end this edition of the Weekend Vigilante.  The household here in Acapulco is all abuzz... and Santa Claus is arriving tonight at 9:30pm!  How do I know that?  Because we paid him 500 Pesos to show up at that time!  You see, even Santa is a capitalist.

All the best!
