Governments Gone Wild

"In a free society we are supposed to know the truth. In a society where truth becomes treason, we are in big trouble." -Ron Paul

The recent news about Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange, is just further proof that governments around the world are out of control and will stop at nothing to retain their power and withhold the truth from the light of day.

In case you haven't been following it, a website called Wikileaks recently published a number of secret government documents which many governments weren't too happy about.

After spending a few days seeing if or how Assange may have "broken the law" by publishing these documents it was becoming clear that under current law, Assange, who is not a US citizen, had not broken existing laws.

This, of course, led to the US Senate introducing a bill by Joe Lieberman to issue a law making some of the things Wikileaks did illegal... and of course making it retroactive.

Days after, purely as coincidence we're sure, Assange was being investigated and arrested for doing something else entirely, which we were not even aware was a law: not using a condom when his partner had allegedly asked him to do so!

We bring attention to this for a number of reasons but the main one is to point out that governments are above the law.  And when they want something, they just change the laws.

This should come as no surprise to most but the fact that many people actually support the government's side in this is the disappointing part.

Hillary Clinton states that Wikileaks "tears at the fabric of government".

If revealing the things the government is doing "tears at its fabric" then, perhaps, we should want to tear at the fabric of government!

Not to mention, wasn't it Hillary who, just recently, lectured the Chinese and its clamp down on Google over censorship of the internet?  It must be hard to flip-flop on something so quickly without hurting your neck!

The government always uses the "if you are innocent then you shouldn't mind all these laws and invasions of privacy we conduct" whenever they take away freedoms.  Well, if that is how they want it, the same should go for them.

So, if the US government isn't lying about the reasons it goes into wars which kill hundreds of thousands of people, assassinating people and overthrowing foreign governments then it should have nothing to worry about, right?

But this, of course, is why the release of tens of thousands of secret documents the government does not want you to see has caused such an uproar, and resulted in an international manhunt by Interpol for a man who didn't use a condom when requested.

And the internet, the last place on Earth with any hope of being free, today shows the following graphic when you visit Wikileaks site:

It is, yet again, more proof that governments have gone wild.  There are very few ways to stop them but there is hope.

Much of the power government's have is because they have taken over control of money.  They have now abused this power so much that most of the world's major western governments and currencies are completely bankrupt.

A return to a free-market money, of which gold & silver have served as free-market monies for millennia, is the best hope we have to restrain the beast.

The good news is that not only can the return of gold & silver as money make the world a much freer, healthier, peaceful place, it can also make you wealthy in the process - as gold showed hitting an all-time high over $1,430 USD on Friday.

Subscribe to The Dollar Vigilante today to get access to research on the gold & silver stocks we have been buying - almost all of which are up dramatically in the last 3 months alone and have much, much further room to rise as the collapse of the US dollar based financial system continues.
