The Decline of American Democracy

We wrote in the October issue of TDV about how democracy is destroying the USA and we recently submitted some snippets of that essay to SafeHaven.com, which you can see here.

The basis of the editorial was a statement on how democracy has been the key driver behind the ongoing decline of the USA.  But we really should have saved ourselves the effort and just submitted the following video as Exhibit A and ultimate proof that democracy in the United States has reached its ultimate and inevitable conclusion as the absolute lowest common denominator of politicians are now prodding forth, glassy-eyed and stammering to take their rightful seats in the halls of Congress.

We double-checked and this video was not from theonion.com, much to our chagrin.  This appears to be real.  You have to see this:

I don't even need to try to make any funny remarks about this video.  All I have to do is quote directly from it, it's pure comedy.

And yes, it appears that US democracy has finally reached the bottom of the barrel.  In this campaign it is Jim DeMint, a man running on a platform that unmarried mothers shouldn't be allowed to be school teachers vs., and I quote, "Alvin Greene who is unemployed, lives with his parents and has now been indicted on felony charges for showing pornography to a South Carolina college student."

And so, both Jim DeMint and Alvin Greene tie for our Idiot Politician Of the Day (IPOD) award.  Although we have to admit Alvin Greene was very effective in making the case that DeMint started the recession.  We were thinking the recession was caused by years of Federal Reserve created booms & busts, trillions wasted on foreign wars and occupations and trillions more wasted and destroyed by politicians in pork barrel projects - but who knows, maybe DeMint did cause the recession.

But the one thing we agree 100% on with Greene is that he's, "the best candidate that defines where we at in this country."

Alvin Greene completely defines where US democracy is at.  And that is why gold & silver make new highs everyday and the US dollar falls more each day.
